Math Programs Like Maple?

Hey everyone,

Anyone know any math programs like Maple? In fact, Maple would be alright, but I need a demo version for one of my uncle's.

He's doing some complicated stuff, and a program like Maple would really help him out.

Any suggestions from you math buffs?

Actually, now that I think about it, I am not even sure if there is a demo of Maple. So, anything like Maple would be alright.

i am assuming you need a free trial/demo/whatever? i think that matlab at one point in time had a demo...but that was a long time ago and it may not be exactly what he needs.

i also checked mathematica and there isn't a demo for it either.

As far as i know matlab, mathematica, and maple are the only true mathematics programs like that available. hopefully i'm wrong tho

EDIT:right...forgot about mathcad

Well, I will have to tell my uncle (if it's for him) to just pay for it.

He already has a *cough* trial version *cough*, but he says it's good enough where he has to buy it.

You might save some bucks if you get an academic version as a student.
