Sort of tasteless anyway, don't you think? He's dead, let the poor man rest in peace.

I hold no brief for Atkins or his diet, but let me tell you: congestive heart failure is typically associated with edema -- water retention -- that often has to be controlled with powerful diuretics.
My father and mother, both slender people, had this problem; ultimately, it was my father's overworked kidneys that failed and killed him, not his aortic stenosis or his atrial fibrillation.
My mother's edema has to be tightly controlled as well: she can gain or lose fifteen pounds in a day, all of it water.

I guess there is some irony in his being overweight.
Flip side of that though is that you can still learn valuable lessons from people who do not necessarily follow their own advice.
Case in point: someone who smokes telling you never to smoke. An overweight person telling you to control your portions size and choose your food wisely. Perhaps even a potato chip munchin, bon bon eating, overweight person suggesting that carbs are not great for you.

Maybe he quit living by his own diet? Besides he wasn't obese. 6'3" and 250lbs. That's a big guy, that's not obese.
Case in point: Jim Fixx, died running. Jogging it bad for you. It'll kill you. Don't do it.

He came up with his diet 30 years ago!
And the rest of your statement, that's a little uncalled for, don't you think?
