Guestapo-like tactics in Australia
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...sharing_raid_1
Basically RIAA investigators raiding Austrilian Kazaa offices. Thats right, not police or law enforcement, RIAA investigators!

Agreed!!
Even more scary when non-governmental entities can raid your home or business with the government's blessing.
IMO

Well, at least for the time being, the company is safe over in the United States.
Perhaps we should do ourselves a favor and send our wonderful Attorney General over there. Let him write up an act for the Aussies.

Thats what scared me, that the governement sanctioned it and allowed the RIAA to do the actual raid. Not police, not FBI or the Austrialian equivilent. :|

that's what i have issues with too undeadlord...since when can a corporation conduct a RAID? i have issues. here is what also bothers me: Quote: |
The raided sites included the office of Kazaa owner Sharman Networks, the homes of two of the company's executives, three Australian universities and Internet service providers.
| This is EXACTLY the same as if the RIAA conducted a raid on the owners of Sony because of the VCR.

I think if I saw RIAA "investigators" banging on my door, that door would stay nicely shut and locked until the cops were the ones banging.
