What the Hell!!!
If they did that to my little girl, there'd be hell to pay!
Stupid people, I'd tell them all to go to hell!
Ahhhhh, to hell with this.

I was beat up in highschool by three other kids, each of whom punched my atleast once in the face. I never threw a punch. We all got the same punishment of one day of In-School-Suspension.
I think me and this girl got the same raw deal.

What are they smoking?
Hell is an interesting curse word. It's not a swear word if used in the context she used it in:
"You are going to hell." <Although it can be offensive for other reasons
"..down in the deepest darkest depths of hell."
In other contexts it is a swear word:
"What the hell?"
"Who the hell are you?"
Basically if you can replace it with the f-word and it still makes sense, you are cursing.
Still, even in those contexts, it's WAYYYY overreacting to *suspend* someone for something so trivial. Kids curse all the time nowadays, and who's to censor them? Don't we have something called freedom of speech?

Dear god...
Oh, that'll be a suspension for me to!
Is it me, or is PC going a tad OTT? |

I'd agree that the the 2nd two examples by Redwolf should be considered profanty by the school, but the context she used it in does not deserve that type of discipline. I doubt if the suspension would stand up to scrutiny unless there is a dispute about the context.

I managed a plea bargain to 3-hrs detention with no priors for saying "this sucks" to someone in passing in the hall.
Made my case that today, when the youth of America say something sucks, they are no longer making reference to a sexual act.

1st of all hell used in that context isn't bad at all.
2nd At most is she should sit in the corner, but suspension!
In High School here, you have to say hell like 50 times to go to AC or get suspended.
