Guys - It's time to pool our resources

OK guys, Valentines Day is just around the corner and it's time to share ideas. What do you do to make the lady in your life feel special? What are your plans for Valentines day? Tell us what has worked for you in the past and what hasn't.

Example: Last valentines day I gave my wife a new video card and I've been sleeping on the couch ever since.

It really depends on how much money you want to flush dow--- err.... "spend" on her. The ideas in my head range from a card (low budget) to an incredible spa weekend ($$$$$$$$$$$$$$ ) ...

Well obviously dumpin....ahhh... spending lots of money works. But I guess if you need a limit, lets say 50 bucks. It doesn't have to be a gift though.

Get a maid. And make sure it's an ugly maid.

Is the maid to clean the house or is that an innuendo to something else?

No, to clean the house. As a treat. She will love it or think you're saying she is a pig...

Does she like to cook?

Well like is such a harsh word She likes to eat but would probably prefer the food to be cooked for her if she had a choice.
I was thinking about cleaning the condo tomorrow as a warm up for V-Day. Maybe cook her dinner on valentines, get her some flowers and whatnot.

Whats the best thing someone has done for you on valentines?

My girlfriend and I just agreed that Valentine's Day is BS promoted by the teddy-bear and chocolate industries and agreed to have the same affection for each other that day as any other day.

Gifts are meant to be surprises, it's not a surprise if you know something's coming IMO.

Ah sam, throwing off the ties of the bourgeois

I've had a lot of good stuff, but I tell you this... I hate Flowers! Being taken out to dinner is not a good gift either, but you cooking for her is awesome...
Flowers suck. They cost a lot of money and aren't tangible. (A CD yes, flowers no.) Same with dinner being your gift... heck how long do you get to keep it? 24 hours?

But don't listen to me, I married the guy that got me a video card for Christmas

LMAO!

I'm with Surreal, flowers are a horrible gift IMHO. I like to make dinner, have rose petals sprinkled around the bedroom, candles lit, put on a sharp oufit, have private slow dances with her(I don't mean strip dances...they come later! ), etc...make her feel like the most important woman in the world to you...after all, she should be. Don't use material items to show your love, they don't represent anything except a few $$$ spent on a short-lived item. Also, write down why you love her and read it to her...doesn't have to follow any format, just has to be from the heart.

Won't be happening for me this year, but that's what I would do if it were. WAAAAAHHHHH I'm all alone!!!!!!!!
