Lap dances cause a decline in military discipline!

U.S. military blames lap dances for declining military discipline
Looks like the sociologists figured this one out. Think of all of the orphans that will not get fed because of the lap dance ban. All of that taxpayer money going to WORTHY causes now...

Quote:
SEOUL – The U.S. military has asked South Korea to ban lap dancing and other lewd acts at local nightclubs near its bases, saying they negatively impact military discipline.

I'm not surprised. Drinking and night clubs and bars seem to be a popular U.S. military thing, overseas.

My dad said him and his buddies enjoyed being in Japan and kicking a beer back, or two or four or six...

Its not common, its a past time.

Think about it. You are in a foreign country for at least a year, defending against the 2nd largest (arguable) military in the world with a defense force outnumbered thirty to one.

Yep i'd take up drinking to.

But what are the odds they'd start something? Besides, I am talking soldiers that are being sent overseas in general.

Dad said he loved Seoul (not a bad city, really. Only spent a few minutes there). Besides being bored, he said the people weren't too bad.

Cut back on the food bill a little then they can have all the strippers and hookers they want.

...just overseas?

Outside any major military post, you'll find a ton of strip clubs...big deal.

As for drinking, everyone does that too, not only in Korea.

Unfortunately, you are correct.

I was stationed in South Korea for a year and I NEVER once paid for a "juicy girl"'s drink, lap dance, etc...however, MANY MANY GI's find themselves spending hundreds of dollars a month on such "fun" things. Unless you've been there, you really can't voice your educated opinions on the subject. The discipline levels there are stunningly lower than they are stateside from what I've seen...officers and enlisted alike. I can honestly say that I would bet money that over 50% of all military stationed there cheat on their spouses. Ok, I can go on and on about the things that happen in Korea...you get the idea.

I'm not saying I didn't have my share of booze...but I didn't fall prey to the nasty women dancing in the bars there.
