Regarding cancled flights, terrorism

Now we have seen these terrorists are pretty sly fellows. Do you think they are just feeling out our methods of intelligence and what channels are being monitored by throwing out false info and watching what happens? It's what I would do if I thought I was being watched and wanted to know how.

Just food for thought is all.

Think about it this way. Who wants to be the government official in possession of a "credible suspicion" to ignore it and expose the public to terrorist activity?

You might be right Gomer, Sollution?

Personally I think that Terror alerts should not be put forth via the news. At the very most companies and government offices should be informed privately rather than saying OOOOO we heard you have a plottttt. Of course perhaps raising the terror alert is might send the message that we know what you are planning so you might want to consider quitting it.

Double edged sword I guess it really boils down subjectivity. Do you inform them and possibly force them to cease that plan? And risk them finding out how you are acquiring your intelligence. Or do you silently prepare in the background and hope you intelligence is good enough to foil the plot. Thereby keeping information gathering sources in tact.

[rant]The military constantly told News Organizations and indirectly the taliban and OBL that they were monitoring their E-Mail and sattellite phones and just about every way we do things. Now it is not a complete secret that we have these capabilities, but it would be nice if the news did not on a daily basis say we heard OBL today and launched missiles at the signal. I just feel as if we drove him low tech and virtually impossible to find. The Public does not need to KNOW that kind of crud.[/rant]

Its also possible they throw out multitudes of false alarms to de-sensitize the american public.

"OH its just another terror alert, nothing is really going to happen"

Unfortunately terrorists are crazy, not stupid.

It's also possible that constantly ringing the 9/11 bell is a bit of campaign-related Pavlovian conditioning.

Just a thought for our drooling voters...

I have for sale a wild elephant repellant. It is proven to work because there isn't a wild elephant within a thousand miles of here.
Karl Rove is selling a terrorist repellent via the media.

I feel positive there will be future terrorist attacks. bushco has demonstrated to the terrorist how easy it is for them to disrupt our country just by making a phonecall on a throwaway cell phone.
The last big alert cost how many hundreds of millions to do what the whitehouse mandated must be done?
Without providing the funds to do it the cost is borne by the local government instead of being paid for out of the funds appropriated for such things.

Just my thoughts:

1. If you have intellegents about a possible attack......why broadcast it, spending millions.....when you know full well the terrorists are monitoring the situation to.....in fact they are probally lol at the waste of all the resorces used.

2. 9/11 was a terrible day, but really....think about this....terrorists are not stupid....I doubt very seriously they would attempt the same thing again. And while all the focus is on the airports, airlines etc......it leaves things open in other areas.

No offence to anyone, I lost a friend in 9/11 and I just think the Govt is on the wrong track.
