a publication has been published for decades, that lists 'Who's Who' which identifies individuals who have achieved a unique status of academic sucess. The book of "Who's Who" is in every library in the country. It is a unique status bestowed upon certain individuals. I figure that alot of people here would know about this abd be able to give some input....

OK, I was just a little confused. (as usual)

I have in fact heard of this publication.

your right sweet, it is a publication that identifies someone with special academic success. I myself happen to be in that publication for making it on to the Dean's list 7 times in my college years. I was sent a letter stating if i want to be in that book because of my academic success. I had to fill out an application about my back ground (school years, hobbies certification, organizations i belong to. ETC). And you sent it back with a fee and all your information goes onto this book.

The only "Who's Who [in America]" of any significance is the one of that name with no additional qualifiers such as "... in American Dendrochronology". All of those are pure commercial ventures, like the "Book of the [say] Gilgamesh Family" (complete with coat-of-arms). Pay the fee and you're in it.

there is no fee, no cost, no cash involved in this....

So far this issue has been, in my opinion, mis-representative.....

Let me help to educate/inform/understand the idealization of who's who...

They sell books... in order to create a market, they offer to put people in them for free. The people in turn buy the books.
