Outdoors RATS!!! Car broken into last night

Car was locked. Driver's window down about an inch.

Popped the lock.

Destroyed my CD player and dashboard for nothing.

Couldn't get it and didn't even take the loose change in the cup holder.

Some people are truly the lowest of the low... I hope you get the broken parts fixed soon.

At least they didn't break the window out, it is hard to get all of the glass out of the carpet.

I think they were actually looking for my son's Jeep.

His band had been practicing in the garage the last week or so and he was leaving it in the driveway.

Since Wranglers are easy to get into I'm sure someone scoped it out and came last night and it wasn't there so they went for my 91 Plymouth Voyager instead.

He stayed on campus at the dorms with his friend.

I think it might actually be better to leave you door open statistically. if the car is far enough away that you would not hear the breaking glass then you should leave it unlocked.

You may lose the contents of the car but that was going to happen either way. At least you still have windows

Seriously I wonder statistically how often a criminal will pass a car up because it is locked versus just smash the window and take the goods ondering:

locks are for honest men..to keep them honest.

But even some little kid will open an unlocked door, lol...yet he wont break the glass.......a crackhead though....he would probably bite thru metal to get what he wants, lol

Epidemic You assume that the theif is going to test the door handle first. For standard sound systems, the damage they cause trying to get the thing out far exceeds the audio equipment.

I'm basically lucky. I have mine in a garage overnight. I don't usually park in suspicious places. I live in the city and take a lot of public transit.

Since I have old fashioned ears, I just have a real cheap CD player and it looks it!

I lost my CD player to a screwdriver between the door handle and sheet metal on my Jetta last year. They tore the stereo from the dash the same way.

First cold morning later, when the door was a bit frozen, the door handle broke.
