Well...it will get worse and more frustating....all the world will cry and clamour for peace at any cost...eventually the focus will become even more sharply tuned onto the middle east and Jerusalem in particular. What do you think will happen when the entire Eu is focused with its resolve that Israel is the root issue of the problem? What then? What about when they want Israel to dismantle their nukes (and commit suicide) and Israel refuses? WHat then??

If we are crying for peace over Iraq...what will we do over Israel when she becomes the focus of the worlds attention and the "culprit"?

Iraq has many friends...Israel basically has one. I hope the USA finds the stomach to stand by Israel no matter what..as opposed to trying to go back to isolationism or "letting them work it out theirselves"

Oh I agree. Now we are there we CANT back out. But things might have to be gone about differently then they are now. Im saying maybe we need to look alternatives instead of ultimatums. Of course Im sure its not as simple as all that. But I dont here any info about diff solutions! Maybe there is a better way with LESS US influence but that would yield the same out come. Im no politician though so I couldnt imagine what to do myself. But arent their supposed to be "great thinkers" working on this. And only one plan of execution in establishing a new form of gov? No, it's not an "unlimited pool" wallie, no where near. I have a friend whose bloodline traces back to Iraq, he went, and he said that the "vast majority" of Iraqies love the Americans being here, and love GWB! He asked if they were talking about the same GWB. It's only the minority of Iraqies that hate the Americans and they were the ones either profiting from Saddam's exploits, or fanatics that were brain washed.

Ask any troop that has come home how much they hate us in Iraq. Guess what? They don't hate us. The only thing they are worried about is that we will leave before the job is done.

I like how you said our government isn't working so great. Look at how much we have because of capitalism. Did you know that under a capitalistic government, our country has produced 270 Nobel Prize Winners. That is 169 more than the next closest country, the UK. We have more billionaires than any other country and our standard of living is better than any other country. We have the best health care in the world and the strongest military. In the United States you have more government granted freedoms than anywhere in the world. Our country also is the largest food producer in the world. All of this in just 225 years of Capitalism.

And I think it is good that we are stepping in over there but I think we should let Israel take care of business. Those people will fight until either the Jews or the Arabs are completely gone. At this point, Israel would win a war hands down.

Oh and by the way. On the list of the countries with the most Nobel prize winners, only one showed up from the middle east. Guess who? Israel! The only country over there that is worth a damn IMHO.

When you have treated a native people like dogs for 60 years, and removed them from their homes, then put them in refugee camps.

When you destroy their homes, destroy the hospitals and schools, the telephone lines and water pipes, the water treatment facilities.

When you punish an entire people collectively, when you prevent pregnant mothers from passing through a check-point to get to doctors on the other side. When you arrest or even execute people on mere allegations without proof and without a court.

When your mission is to treat the Palestinians so badly in the hopes that they will pack up and leave their remaining land for you.

When you intentionally send fanatic settlers to live amongst Palestinians, when you send battalions to build protected roads through Palestinians farms for the settlers.

When you snipe at mothers, fathers and kids.

When you claim to be the only democracy in the middle east but have segregationist laws concerning the Palestinians.

When you can do whatever you want, and your faithful but powerful friend the USA backs you on all occasions no matter what, and sends you billions of tax dollars and free military hardware to kill off some more Palestinians.

Then you will have a society that does not cherish its life, and you will have people willing to blow themselves up for liberation.

It has nothing to do with virgins or heaven.

The majority of the freedom fighters are fighting to liberate Palestine.

It might be hard for modern Americans to understand this, due to the media bias and lack of connection with he reality on the ground in Palestine.

A Canadian friend of mine recently went to Palestine on a humanitarian mission with a plastic surgeon. She used to be quite a balanced person when it came to debating the conflict.

Today she hates everything Israeli and Jewish, and the stories she told me we see every day on Arab news, but these stories never make it into western media.

So if you seriously believe that freedom fighters blow themselves up for virgins, or for fake religion then you have been successfully brainwashed and I applaud those that did it.
Ironically, when the Jews of Europe wanted to create a state for themselves they carried out violent operations.

Back then it was okay to do this.
