a new mel gibson flick. i think it sounds interesting. he threw his own money (around 20 M) into it. and a lot of different religions/demoninations are supporting it.

I heard about it months ago, been intrigued ever since....would like to see it, prolly end up seeing it by myself though...

hasnt this movie caused a big uproar among mant relgious communities? I also head rumors of it just being in latin, which wouldnt make sense

Hebrew and Aramaic (sp) subtitled...watch the trailer and you'll see the subtitles.

Looks to be a very powerful film...I could give a poo what this or that religious cleric thinks of it, either.

My churchyouth group and I were discussing going to see it as a group after seeing a preview at this camp I went to over the weekend. It looks really good.

Will be seing it either on or after the day it comes out. The language thing is to try to present the story in as much of an original fassion as possible. Also gives you a true sense of the story if you see the native dialogs.

Since only the "usual suspects" are making a fuss about it, I suspect it's pretty true to the original gospel story. Looks well worth seeing.

Well, it is evidently going to be fairly graphic as far as the crucifixion. We all have seen those pics of Jesus on the cross with that 1 trickle of blood...lol...which is totally inaccurate. So I think this one will be more acurrate as to what a person would go thru after being first scourged, then beat up and punched by the roman soldiers, struck on the head with staffs (or sticks)..then crucified with all its attendant horror.

to me, graphic is good, because it is true to what actually happened.

A lot of the controversy is the JEws are nervous thinking it will stir up anti semitism...(cuz they killed their Messiah, lol)

from a Christian point of view...I am quite sad about the fact that Christians are so excited thinking that this movie will make a huge difference in the world etc etc.....I keep getting emails about it....my problem is that the people who are "Christians" SUPPOSEDLY have a RELATIONSHIP with Jesus...who is the MOST exciting person who ever lived!!....so I find it a little sad that they get this excited over Mel Gibsons portrayal etc.....as if they think that somehow Mel and Hollywood will add credibility to Jesus...what a joke. I think it is a sad commentary on how spiritually bankrupt most who call themselves "Christians" really are. They want Mel to do the work God has charged THEM with /end harsh editorial

The ministry I worked for recently had a convention of about 3000 employees and we got to see a sneak preview of the movie and talk to the man who played Jesus. Won't go into too much detail (dont want to spoilt it) But the movie is definitly worth seeing, christian or not.
