The Dean "scream"

ABC news ran a piece tonight about the Dean "scream" in Iowa. They played it as the crowd heard it, not just from the microphone. When you factor in the incredible crowd noise and listen to the whole speech, it is all completely justified and normal. The crowd was going bonkers and screaming the same way he was. You just can't hear it on the news clips because of the type of microphone he was using, one that is designed to block background noise. ABC also admitted that they handled the whole thing poorly, and CNN and Fox news both issued statements that they, too, had misrepresented the event.

In light of this excellent news piece, I am once again firmly in the Dean camp. My faith in him has been restored. And my anger and disgust with the media in general is also restored. Dean got hit by a very low blow. I just hope he can recover from it.

Me too. A Dean nomination means an almost absolute certain win for Bush. Kerry could possibly give him problems.

So, GO DEAN.... YEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

I don't think Kerry, or any other Democrat, stands a chance if Nader runs again. Once he enters the race, the election becomes a pointless waste of time.

Even without Nader, it's still a really big uphill battle to unseat Bush. Not that he's done anything good for the country. He just has the best spin doctors I've ever seen.

Nader...haha too funny.. the Star Wars Kid would have a better chance of gaining the presidency.... Actually tell ya the truth Gore would have a better chance than Nader.

I agree with you, M-Six, about the speech. I didn't watch it live, but after reading the hoopla and watching excerpts, I don't see the big deal. Of course he wasn't appearing "presidential." He was at a campaign rally, fer chrissake!

I don't think Nader will run, though. And J-Excel, I also agree with you. Although I can't stand our current administration, I don't think Dean has a hope in you know what.

Personally, I still wish Joe Biden had chosen to run.

The Doctor was on NPR this morning. Frankly, he sounded a bit off kilter. Maybe he's not a morning person.

Joe Biden stands as good a chance as Lieberman, which is to say, none. You can't win the nomination appealing to moderates.

And this is what the conventional wisdom said in 1948

Even if Dean doesn't get the nomination he has transformed the race. Before Dean entered, the Democrats were afraid to take Bush head-on. Not so any more.

He has also changed the way money is raised.

I agree with Osprey, Joe Biden is like Lieberman. He knuckled in to all of Bush's proposals too. Bush is vulnerable on so many issues but one can't win being Bush-lite.
