What's the deal with buffalo wings?

What's the deal with buffalo wings? Buffaloes can't fly, so why do they have wings?

And why are buffalo wings called that, when the wings probably aren't even buffalo meat? I guess Jessica Simpson had the same issues with BW that I did.

Maybe because they were first made in Buffalo, NY.

Could be. Ya, maybe that's why.

There was a bar in Buffalo that invented them, late one evening when they were out of everything else to eat. Here's one version of the story.

I have a recipe for Hooters hot wings.

Very delicious!!

Can't wait for another special occasion to make them.

Anything happening on Sunday that might require snacks?

They are named after their pre-historic ancester, the Buffalosaurus, which used to look like buffalo's, but with small protuding wings below the front legs.

These wings were after effects of evolution and served no practical purpose, other than to keep the flys off the Buffalo's belly.

Eventually, after the invention of fire, prehistoric man began to cook the small wings as a gift to their mates.

After discovering fossels of the Buffalosaurus wings, some 200 years ago, they realized a close resemblence to those of the wings of a chicken, and came up with the idea of "Buffalo wings"

The term has stuck ever since!

Can you tell I'm the story teller for three children

Oh come on, buffalo's do fly! I see them flying all the time.
Ya just need to get your good ole trusty buffalo gun out and start aiming in the sky and shoot'm down and then you can cook up your favorite buffalo wings recipe!
