Leaving the dark side.

As of March 1st I will be working the day shift. 6:00 am - 2:30pm. Making a full change in my normal hours is going to be interesting to say the least. alot of nights I don't go to bed until 5:00am. Now I will have to get up then.

I worked Noc shift, 11:00 pm to 07:30 am the next day, for 2 yrs as a LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse)
One of the worst expriences I've ever had. I only got about 4hrs of sleep a day. I really think I aged 10yrs in those two.
But hey!! If you like the outdoors, in the summer months, and getting off at 2:30 PM, you'll still have plenty of time to go have some fun.

We change every three months, from Days to Mids and back again. I agree that the first week is the worst. Be aware that you may develop a minor cold or sickness as your body adjusts. -And don't plan anything for your first official "day" off, so you'll be able to crash for the most part.

We change every 2 weeks - yes, it's nuts (3 shifts). Also, doesn't mean you'll be working that same shift EVERY day, either...might have something else going on during the day.

Personally, I don't think it's that bad *shrugs*...you get used to it.

Ya but when you work a different shift every 2 weeks your body starts adjusting and you start sleeping at any chance you can. As opposed to being on a very fixed shift for several years...

It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, you'll be ok after a few days
