Never in the history of man has an entire economy been supported without some form of solid manufacturing base, are we to buck the trend and become the first?
In my limited understanding of economics it seems rather absurd to assume that technology can evolve fast enough to employ everyone in the conceptualization of that product and then send the actual manufacturing aspect overseas for cheaper labor and to exploit their environment.
The "Service's" industry doesnt nearly pay enough to live on and hence the need for that manufacturing base to begin with. Life is full of chronic underachievers, they are our neighbors maybe even our family. Are they undeserving of a sliver of the pie if they are willing to work? Iam far from a liberal folks so dont try to stereotype me. I just wonder how much is enough? How many children need to go to bed everynight hungry so Bill Gates doesnt have to wear the same pair of socks twice? I ponder how that broad from Enron got slapped on the wrist for her and her husband decimating so many peoples lives.
The real travesty I feel is the fact that the media indunates us with it and we grow immune and unsensitive to the inhumanity of it all when we should be DEMANDING heads roll, someones responsible for the state of affairs in this country. Iam still waiting for an apology from our president for me defending his actions concerning Iraq to my Canadian friends, even deep fried, Crow sucks.
