Oh too bad :)

David Kay stepped down as leader of the U.S. hunt for banned weapons in Iraq on Friday and said he did not believe the country had any large stockpiles of chemical or biological weapons.

Someone here on the forum once mentioned they had seen the evidence in their line of work. Don't you want to call up Kay and inform him that he's wrong?

any of this could be total politics....even the most cynical of us would probably be SHOCKED if we saw and understood the corruption in ANY political situation like this....so from the outside looking in....its only a vague guess anyway.

But of course when it was claimed that Iraq was still producing WMD's it was not total politics but hard facts that all could see for themselves during the speech Powell gave at the UN.

Now that WMD's cannot be found, we are told to assume that it's all just internal politics that we mortals could never understand.

Nice

Clubmed, you seem to have drawn your conclusions without reading all of his remarks. Kay has said in the past and continues to say that Iraq maintained illegal weapons programs that justified the invasion.

Where did I mention that Kay said there were never any weapons? Where did I misquote Kay? Show me something I said in this thread that goes against what Kay has said please.

So where exactly do you draw your conclusions?

Seriously, if you have nothing intelligent to say stay out of the thread please. But if you do have something to say, try not to be a hypocrite when saying it.

Not only do you wrongfully put words in my mouth that I never said but you also seem to jump to incorrect conlusions without reading what I said.

ClubMed, that is an appropriate response to this thread... do not insult or harass other members just because they don't say what you want to hear!

DO NOT REPLY to this message in public, if you have an issue with my comment, or osprey's deal with it in PRIVATE?!

Kay also blames U.S. Intelligence organizations and not the President. Whether or not they exist is irrelevant. Saddam was ordered to provide proof that he abandoned his programs and destroyed his weapons. He did not. There was corroberating evidence to suggest he did not. To me that was reason enough to topple his regime. Frankly, for me we didn't even need that.

[This is what pissed me off, not the 2nd part of his sentence]

My disappointment concerns your putting words in mouth and not your opinion or your political beliefs. Some members seem to think that I get annoyed when someone posts something I disagree with. That would be an incorrect assumption.

What pissed me off about your comment was that you jumped to a false conclusion even while you claimed that I had done the very same thing.

Once again, if you could point me to the sentence or comment I made that let you to believe I had misquoted or misunderstood Kay I would appreciate it.

However I think I clearly stated that Kay could not find any WMD's. Which goes in stark contrast with what the administration claimed prior to the invasion.

Fingers: There is no issue to discuss in private, I think you're seeing elephants when in fact they are flies. Anyway YGPM.

It's called a counterpoint, intended to provoke discussion, not anger. But if you just want to rant, there's no need for anyone to respond.

For future clarity, please add the word "RANT" to your topic and I'll simply avoid the thread.
