Im wanting to learn to play in my spare time... i was thinking of an acoustic guitar to start out with, but from what ive heard electric is far easier to learn on.... Not too sure.. Ive got an acoustic in mind right now... a Fender Dg-11. But as far as ease of learning what would you guys say i should start out with? Acoustic,acoustic-electric, electric

thx for the help tax season is gonna be good this year.

I'd say electrics are easier to play/learn on...but either way is fine.

Only thing you MUST do is get yourself a tuner. It'll take a while before you can tune by ear and you don't want to be learning to play on an out of tune guitar. Or on one that's tuned to the wrong key.

Tuners are cheap, simple to use, and can save you all kinds of headaches. As you learn to play your ears begin to learn what sounds "right" and what doesn't. So if you learn on an out of tune instrument you're really screwing yourself over because your ears will learning the wrong sounds.

A good acoustic will be just as easy as an electric but choose a guitar that will fit you. I play electric cause my belly's too big for an acoustic.

I play both because each has it's place.A lot depends on what style of music you like to listen to.Metallica and an acoustic doesn't really go together.Have you ever heard Enter Sandman unplugged?

I would suggest starting out with a steel-string acoustic. Your fingers will get really tough and you'll develop callouses sooner.
