i guess it's gonna be the same like the moon story, they gonna fight till one got their flag on that planet

yes, but the landing thing crashed or failed, but the satellite is there and taking some awsome pictures, hope they gonna publish some of them

Seriously though I think you are right there creatures. It would be nice if all space agencies could play nice together. USA, China, EU and Russia would be nice.

Of course their are the downfalls to such a process. The bloating of the agency would make everything 10 times as beauracratic as now. Might even end up costing more to accomplish the same task as all the agencies working separately.

Other caveats would be that countries involved would potentially acquire secrets which give them tactical edges they dont already have.

Not sure if I go for it at this time. China in particular still strikes me as a wild card. But that is just what the media tells me I am not sure that they are all bad but none the less I am cautious.

So on the surface it would be wonderful for the world to join together in this endeavor and pool tremendous resources in both brain power and mula.

but one must think long and hard about the possible consequences . perhaps it would even smooth things out having a common goal like travel to other planets.

The only stipulation I think should be that walmart gets the concession for the moon and mars .

Well, the idea is nice, but I can't see it happening for a variety of reasons. The biggest on being pride. You can see it here, and even though this brain trust puts it's collective brain juices together and solves quite a few problems, there is an aweful lot of disagreeance too, and none of us are talking directly to the other ( it's basically almost all shared conversation if you don't take into account PM's ).

Imagine what a few countries, with the pressures from each of their people, would not get accomplished because of all the " agreements" that would have to be made in order to to come to agreeance on the smallest of issues. It would be.......

Actually, there's been quite a bit of cooperation on thse missions. They were designed to be complementary.
