Ummmm, what other way is their to portray the greed, tretchery and politicing of killing a man for simply speaking his mind to thousands of believers. Rather than explaining how his story was wrong they fed him to the romans. That would seem to be a black eye for those involved's "imagery".
This complaint would be akin (all be it on a smaller scale) to saying that movies about the third reich defame germans today.
History is full of bad guys by todays standards. that does not make the current people good or bad. It is just History.
Just because the middle east is considered to be the cultural mecca of history does not mean that they should be the leaders of culture and guide the world to enlightenment.
Things change, Some things stay the same. A movie about a negative portion of history regarding some jewish leaders and a few jewish faithful does not describe all jews today. Duh!!!
People would do well to forget the negatives of history as they are the cause of much of todays conflicts. Grudges for wrongs initiated 3,562 years before.
He who does not know the failures of history is doomed to repeat them. But more importantly he who lives in history is doomed to repeat it as well.
There are dopes in America who still hold a grudge for the civil war. I think all the grudges against england are gone now. WWII is still in memory and affects some today. But in general america's grudges last at most 150 years for the last vestages of a historical grudge to die and about 25 years for a majority of grudge bearers to put their feelings in check. We need to employ this around the world.
