For the praying folks...

I rarely do this, but here goes.
My little girl (will be 2 on Feb 2nd) woke up with chest congestion this morning after a barely-there cough yesterday. We'll take her to the doctor tomorrow, of course.

I just hope and pray it's not the flu, and kindly ask that you might do the same. And maybe that I can have some peace about the whole thing, I'm a wreck! Just a really mild fever started after her afternoon nap, about 99.7 degrees. She's happy, but doesn't really want to eat anything but toast.

I know it's probably minor, or maybe a mediocre cold, but there'e that nagging sense of fear. For those of you who haven't children it's incomprehensible to imagine the love and desire to care for such a child, but I hope someday you'll know the joy!

You got my prayers, my little girl is just getting over a minor cold, but with all the news you get a little nervous over even little things.

Prayers dispatched.

Don't be too concerned even if the doc does suggest it might be the flu. Even though the current strain circulating in the Northern hemisphere is fairly aggressive, most children who get it will have a reasonably mild illness. And current anti-viral therapy is quite good at minimising the effects of the flu if needed.

It is always a worry when your kids get sick - even when they get older. Have a good talk to your doc about any specific fears you may have to make sure he provides good advice for you to follow. The most important thing is temperature control. Can be hard to get right in cold weather, though.

Happy looking little girl you got there!

Cheers
Mick

You got it. I know it's hard, but try not to worry. I can remember when my son was little. I'd be sound asleep and he'd cough once and I'd be wide awake.

She looks like a real sweetheart.

Don't sweat it, you're handling it much rougher than she ever will...kids are tough!

Now get back to giving that pretty girl some good ol' Daddy hugs!

My prayers are with you mate.

It's sad to see any child with an illness, so I hope she makes an extremely speedy recovery.
