Leaving negative heatware.

Well I had a transaction that went horrible. I left negative feedback. I was the seller. Sold an 80mm fan to someone I'd already traded with before. Shipped the fan first as it was only $8.00. Payment never arrived so after 2 weeks I contacted him through heatware.com. He assured me that he had paid. After waiting 2 more weeks it still hadn't arrived. I had received mail from all over the country and the longest it had taken was a week not a month. He assured me it would arrive by the next Monday or Tuesday at the latest(Jan12th-13th). It's the 20th and it's still not here. Finally went to heatware.com and left a negative feedback. He's new and posting alot in the Trader's Forum. Felt it would be unfair to not leave the appropriate feedback and warn others. We had traded previously and it took a long time for him to ship his items. I contacted him about our first trade and he said he'd had problems with local forest fires so I said no problem. He did eventually ship. It went fairly well with the late shipment and all so I left a positive eval on that trade. This trade however left a negative because as I said he never paid. All over a measly $8.00. I'm not trying to dump on him and haven't complained to the mods because it is such a small amount and don't wish to mention his name but am wondering, what are the reprecussions? I didn't want to leave a negative eval and haven't done so before but felt compelled to.

If you kept your end of the deal there is NO reason to feel bad about leaving neg Heat or complainning about getting the dirty end of the stick.

If he burned someone once it's likely he'll burn someone again. You've already given enough time for him to make up. The amount of money means nothing be it $8 or $80 but it's the principal that counts. You shouldn't feel guity about any feedback you give so go for it.

Thanks. Just hate to leave a negative but really felt there was no other choice.

I'd go with your instincts on this, If you felt there was no choice than that is the right thing to do. He knows the rules of trading an if he wants to continue he needs to learn to uphold is side of the agreements.

You held up your responsibility. He did not. You are not responsible for his actions his is and you do someone a disservice letting them get by doing something wrong, it somehow makes it less wrong and sets the next person up.

Well, the only issue is if he leaves u a negative now just for spite.....what I would do is email him and let him know that when payment comes you will change it to neutral or whatever....maybe you can keep him from giving you a negative just for spite.

(I got nervous when I saw your name as leaving a negative....I thought it might be for me!! lol)

Maybe heatware would be better if it was not just the 3 choices pos,neutral,neg.....maybe if it was a numerical rating thing like 1 to 5.....if you got payment you could leave a 4 and simply say it was a few weeks late on the money end of it.

Then they could show a persons rating as opposed to just a long list of positives.....like instead they would have a 4.85 rating and you could go see where they were "marked down".....that would be more accurate becuase some people pay a little late or slightly leave out a few details about the condition of the stuff..or they dont pack it really good....but you HATE to give em a neutral for a small thing.....so in a way the present system is too "black and white".....everyone looks either perfect or terrible.

I don't think the Neutral is used enough. I too was worried about leaving a Neutral once and now I wish I had. Heatware has people that will "moderate" a dispute and if someone leaves a Negative rating out of spite, they're swiftly taken care of.

I also agree that if you leave a Negative and the person does make an effort to fix the problem that you should change it to Neutral.

I just wish you could leave Negative on somebody just for the Hell of it. That would be fun.
