have another diet soda, get alzheimers

http://www.mercola.com/article/aspartame/fraud.htm

Technically, the chemical is called aspartame, and it was once on a Pentagon list of biowarfare chemicals submitted to Congress. [1] Aspartame is in over 4,000 products worldwide and is consumed by over 200 million people in the United States alone.

Cool.

heard about this for years. But as usual I am a skeptic.

I do not ingest much aspertame so I am safe.

If this is true then I still wonder why foreign nations FDA's do not take action. If it is our trademarked monopoly one would think that they would not have the vested interest that we might have.

Don't know. Always intersting to read this stuff though.

Barbequing is carcenogenic. A lot of ingredients can be poison if taken in large, immediate doses. Aspertame has been around for a long time and used in a lot of products. Has any study concluded a link between Aspertame and ACTUAL deteriorated health?

If 200 million Americans are ingesting it, almost everyone in the country is using Nutra Sweet. I don't think so. It has show to have increased brain tumors in rats. Is there an inceased brain tumors in humans?

Wait...now I know how George W. Bush go elected!

From the article, that "Dr." thinks that Clinton appointed Clarence Thomas to the Supreme Court! Perhaps he's a Diet Coke drinker?

LOL!! The guy needs to bone up on his high school chemistry (since he doesn't appear to have graduated from college).

Could you explain how that's wrong (I haven't taken much chem).
He's probably a doctor of art, he never really specified the title next to his name.

Most of those government health tests are BS because they do stupid things like inject rats with stuff to find what the lethal dosage is. If you look at pure data, you can determine that water is more dangerous than ammonium chloride because the lethal dosage for water is 25mg/kg but the lethal dosage for ammonium chloride is 30mg/kg.

I always love these scare documents.

They look reasonable well informed but like the di-hydrous Oxide one the testing is unreasonable or vague.

I suspect that with enough analysis I could prove that running kills more people than sitting in front of the tv eating bon bons.

A pedestrian is hit every X seconds, dehydration, heat stroke, and dog maulings are much lower in the livingroom

you need to take everything with a grain of salt but I guess that will give you high blood pressure.

Seriously though I wonder how many people die every year due to stress caused by these warnings.

The physology of rats is actually, from what I understand, very close to that of humans. There may be some valid conclusions draw, if the tests themselves are valid.

That aspertame has been around for a bit, one would expect to see an increase of brain tumors. If there was a signficant increase, then we know something is amiss.

It's OK that people raise questions and concerns. It wasn't so long ago that what really kept such things off the market was fear of lawsuits. But maybe some companies aren't scared to be sued any more!

rDNA, aka, ribosomal DNA is a poly nucleic acid. Aspartame is a dipeptide (a methyl ester of two naturally occuring amino acids). Completely different molecules.

This "doctor" obviously hopes the people reading this article are complete idiots.

He also talks about formaldehyde being a metabolite of aspartame,

...which is carcinogenic and very toxic...
Formaldehyde is produced by the body naturally in anaerobic metabolism. Check any biochemistry book.

The guy is a FRAUD!!
