Ford Shelby Cobra concept car

605 ponies under this hood.

Not too keen on the back end. Looks like someone ran a chop saw across it. Otherwise, it's not bad.

EDIT: No roof, no side glass, no wipers, no radio. This is definitely a fair-weather road machine.

It would have a radio after I got done with it. Sharp car. Modern enough without being dumb looking like all these crappy retro jobbies. Seen the new Mustang?? Come on guys, 69 or 04, make up your minds... Ugh.

Nice... I wonder if it'll make production in any form... best use of 605 ponies I've seen in a while

Some companies are doing this though.... cutting out the innards...

The hot new BMW is without radio and air con, and runs on super-slicks - its dangerous to drive in anything more than moist conditions! And how do you know its going to rain without the radio?!

But then... performance!

Yeah they had the whole build up and construction of this masterpiece on TLC a week or so ago. I wouldnt mind owning one, but I still like the original 427 S/C better.

of course, that goes without saying

this is definitely not a car to be used every day...mostly just to take out in the countryside from time to time or to the track and that's about it. although i seriously wonder about that weight. They said that they were going lightweight but the car weighs about 3000 pounds. while not crown vic in weight, it's still not a superlight like a lotus elise at 1975 lbs...which this car should be. but i'm nitpicking. it still looks awesome!

How much horsepower does an Elise have, original? Like 117 isn't it? 3,000lbs and 605HP... 3,000lbs suddenly doesn't seem like very much.

Plus there are 6,000lbs Mercedes out there that will do 12 second quarter miles. THAT'S unreal.

very true...but i want this thing to be as awesome as possible. Not just a great car, but an amazing car. The elise has a 170hp engine (celica gts), and yet it will do 0-60 in 5 flat. that's the same as a camaro SS. so weight can do wonders.

also keep in mind with what car this is based on...a car that could do 0-60 in around 3.2! currently the formula for this car is only saying around 3.8 to me. i want that 3 flat! and besides, when you start talking about low to mid 3's it's not about power anymore, but weight to power ratio. and i want this to be as good as the original in terms of performance.

btw...what mercedes is that!?!?! i'm not aware of any mercede that will do a 12 second quarter mile except for this one which weighs 3800.

i think there is a small chance they will make it. they said that if there is a response to this car like they did the GT last year then they will make it.
