Software to block PopUPs - Winning Confirmation

Hmmmm....

I understand the need for advertising. I also almost understand the need for pop-up ads to be competitive with other sites.

However it appears as though the extremely annoying ad for travel and something about winning confirmation and expiration, is linked to using TechIMO. I guess I should be paying closer attention and not just routinely dump them without thinking but the 2 or 3 times that they've appeared I think TechIMO is the only site I had active.

It's one of the most annoying and obnoxious ads that I've come across. Maybe even worse than that blasted X-10 stuff!

I think I'm going to look for a good program to stop this annoyance. Anybody have a good suggestion for an easy to use and manage pop-up ad blocking program?

I hope I'm mistaken and it's not from TechIMO. However I'm afraid not and if it is, I'm sorry Scott, but for me it's the straw that broke the camel's back.

That Discover card popup is the worst it popsup on every single page I open.
I belive that AnalogX has a pretty good program that will close a window very quickly, But you have to tell it what windows to close. It closes them depending on the title of the window.
You would let it popup then open the analogx popup stopper and tell it to stop that window.
AnalogX POW!

That brightly flashing your a winner thing in the top left corner is killing me. Hurts the eyes and is just obnoxious.

Thanks,

I've downloaded and installed it. I'll see how it works.

I tried a different one quite some time ago but it seemed too complicated and didn't work well when I thought I configured it right.

I wonder if the companies are running a competition to see who can have the most obnoxious pop-up?
