Hello Socal . . . Wow, long time! I like what you did with your eye.

My IWill crashed and burned also ... when a heatsink/fan Ziff clasp broke during operation. After 3 mos. of "haggling" with the vendor, the board was replaced and I received a 1.33 Ghz as the vendor was out of the 1.2 Ghz. I put the assembly with the above IBM HDD together and gave it to my brother. He uses it till this day.

I remember you and I had a clash of opinions about our respective motherboard choices! I thought for sure the all-knowing Socal-***-*** was correct until I built my system.

That was a lot of fun. Bring me up to date sometime!

I dropped nearly $2k for a 8086-1 workstation back in the 1980s, back in the wondeful days of cutting-edge CGA graphics.

I am sure there are several people here that can recount stories of $1000+ Megabyte-range hard drives and $500+ Kilobyte-range memory upgrades.

And to think I overhear teenagers griping about giving $100 for a 80GB hard drive when I am shopping at Circuit City or Best Buy.
