Criteria for posting news............

What is it?.....

Apparently I missed it because I submitted two news stories two days ago and they still haven't been posted. Since then, one of the topics has been posted (Napster) even though I submitted that story earlier...

How does it work?

What exactly are you submitting?

The few times I have done it I just filled out the little form (name, email, headline, summary) and clicked on "submit".

Are you using naughty words or something?

Remember, whatever summary you type in has got to be your own words, you shouldn't cut'n'paste from the news article.

I don't think you can use when you submitted it as an indication of who might have submitted the news first.

I submitted several that WERE posted and then several that I never saw posted included one or two that were posted quite a while after I submitted them that were what I'd submitted but with somebody else's name on them.

To tell you the truth during Xmas and New Year's I think everybody was on holiday and I submitted some news and it never appeared. In fact not much at all appeared then. I sort of gave up bothering at that point.

Things seem to be on a more even keel now but there are long periods when there's no posting. I assume those who take care of that task have other more important things to do or decided to go out and party instead. Thus you can submit something, thinking you may be the first to do so and then several hours later see it with somebody else's name attached to it. It MAY BE that he/she submitted it before you did or the person managing the posting thinks they did a better job of writing it up.

Yeah, I submitted something about the Trojan in Grokster, only to see it posted by someone else. Hey, them's the breaks. First come first serve, ya know?

Maybe the mac one was out of place...seems a lot of the news is rather serious

Over the last week I've posted 2 news stories.

One on a 3GB floppy disk that is soon to be realesed (supposidly), and one about Artic Silver3 (being realesed at the end of this month for $8). Neither got posted, but I figured

A.Someone already did, and I missed it.

B.I did something wrong in the post.

C.It got missed in the tons of news stories being submitted.

D.Scott is so busy making this website the greatest on the face of the world that he didn't have time. (probably most likely)

or.....er.....what comes after D.....ahh yes

E.A gigantic metoer crashed into the lines just as my message was being sent, and the message was lost.
