The city's police review commission spent weeks conducting a profanity audit and found that there were 63 complaints over a year-and-a-half.

Under a new profanity policy, officers are only allowed to curse when they think it will help them avoid using force. And when they do, it's up to them to justify the obscene word in a written report.

So instead of being out on the streets at least being a deterrent for donut crimes they'll be writing reports explaining why they said a bad work like 'crap'

Oh sir please please put down the gun. Won't you be a true gentleman and not hold the gun in a violent and disturbing manner? Would ya do that for me good kind sir?!

They said "profanity" not talking in an upper-class polite way. In my work, I am not allowed to swear, curse or use any profanity. I cannot see why it should be different for any other people if it is in their job rules?

Having been stopped for a burned out tail light and subjected to torants of unwarrented profanity. Some thing should be done to curb the language.

Brings to mind that police video where the guy in the SUV gets a ticket, all the while berating the officer. He rips the ticket up, still cussing, and throws it on the ground. The office says calmly (kills me every time) "Sir, if you don't get out and pick that up right now, I'll write you another ticket for littering"
