Washington, D.C. voters narrowly selected Dean over THE Rev. Al Sharpton in the nations first primary. Unfortunately, the election does not result in the selection of actual delegates.
There was a HUGE increase in voter turn-out for this election, up 50% over the last Democratic primary, but still only 12% of registered Democrats. Presumably, the Rev. Al has energized the electorate.
