And this just in..... polls reveal that nearly 80 percent of Americans plan to have their wisdom teeth removed with a spoon, yet only half say they'll request any sort of anesthesia.

Msnbc was repeating their polls online so viewers could vote until one showed 13% or some number less than 20 oposed Bush but the viewer polls, which only allowed one vote per ip address, over 80% were in oposition since then you cant vote. The msnbc poll was also coincedentally 1003 against over 130,000 viewers.

Polls showed people liked Reagan personally but a majority disagreed with every single policy he supported.
What does it mean? Most people have no clue as to a politician's policies.

and of course as we all know 50% of all polls are made up on the spot . makes sense to me tho (if indeed the polls are an accurate reflection of the public's opinion). i have a lot of personal respect for bush, but i don't care for him much as a politician. just because someone is a great person doesn't mean they are a good politician. in fact the oposite can sometimes be the fact.

The poll doesn't ask the question of whether they like Bush personally; it asks if they think President Bush has the right personal qualities for the presidency. Most say he does.
Big difference there.

i don't see a difference personally in relation to this poll. most american's are stupid and don't see a difference. besides...personal and politics shouldn't belong together IMO. professional qualities are far more important than personal qualities, and in fact i dare say personal qualities are completely irrelevant when it comes to politics
I will bring up my favorite little question about this: in a hypothetical situation you have 3 people running for president. the first is a drunkard and a heavy smoker, the second a drunkard as well and cheats on his wife, and the third is a vegitarian, doesn't smoke or drink, and is a devote catholic. who do you vote for?
obviously this is a trick so after a little thought i'll reveal tomorrow who these people were.

Most people will respect the president of the United States just for being the president. As soon there is a new president, most people forget who the last guy was.
When Bill Clinton finished his second term, Americans had to choose between Gore and Bush, who I believe have both been described as being boring, having no sense of humor or charisma; basically having no personality at all. So what personal qualities?
