School Busses!

I take the kids to and from school, mainly because the bus that runs by our house goes to the High School first, drops off kids, then comes by here to pick up kids to go to the other
3 schools,so therefore my oldest daughter doesn't have a ride ot school.
No problem,I take her,so I take the rest as well, that way they don't have to wait in the, cold, wet morning air.
So yesterday,I'm leaving the High School, and was in front of a bus. This guy was so close to me,I couldn't see the top of the hood in the rearview mirror, too close for my comfort. As I'm approaching the corner here comes another bus and turns way to fast, and I have to swerve to the right to miss him,all the while this maniac behind me is riding my back bumper.I made 4 stops and a mile of traffic before I finally got out from in front of him

So today I went in the parking lot to pick up my daughter,at least I'll be able to pick my place in traffic somewhat.I went the mile to the middle school, and had to stomp the brakes as a bus comes rippin around a right hand corner,as I was in the left turn laneI was about a length back from the line, and the bus was nearly in the straight lane getting arounjd the corner.

Now I know the bus is a hard thing to drive, and needs a lot of space, but geez.Aren't they supposed to deliver the kids safely?
this is not the first time bus incidents have happed here either. Is this an isolated inccident,or are all buses like this.

OK end of my rant

I never have quite figured out if it's busses or buses.

And i thought it was just where i live...

I had a devil of a bus driver once. she found humor in EVERYTHING...at times she would make quick harsh stops just to see kids bounce or fall out of their seats and then just laugh, cuts corners tight and do many things that put us in a signifigant amount of danger, not to mention the reckless driving in snowyweather that once ended in the bus in a ditch. i think at times, bus drivers feel that they own the road!
(other bus drivers are better, but the few like this are just so horribly dangerous!)

so yes, i know exactly what you are feeling here.

I get the same thing when i come to school in the mornings now as a driver, many times have i almost gotten demolished by these demolition derby-ish drivers.

well buses in the past year from my school have hit cars, been hit by cars at speeds over 75 mph, been hit by my sister, crashed into houses (the guy they pinned is still in the hospitable).

You know the usuall..

edit: though our bus drivers are very good, and well. though the local town bus drivers are a little ... carefree.

It isn't just school bus drivers. I've seen some city bus drivers who drive like demolition derby drivers.

Why is it that bus drivers have to be right at your rear bumper?? I've never understood that particular "philosophy" (as I like to call it).

have you ever heard of a bus rodeo?

they actually have a few around here, all the bus drivers from around come to compete in bus competition...maybe this is a main reason they take driving so lightlyl

don't even have to stop? ugh I think bus drivers are required to follow the same rules of the road as the next guy.

We have our share of nasty city drivers. One about pushed me into oncoming traffic last week and another time i witness the bus stopping at an angle so cars could not pass instead of moving over to the side in the bus stopping area like they are suppose to.

They are horrible drivers. I think standards for thier driving should be higher for passing the test for drivers liences.

Well they are supposed to have the same rules Neo,but I'm glad my kids don't ride the bus anymore.

The way they drive is rediculous
