New Music Stinks

I'm sitting here in CAD class, and my teacher has the radio going. He has on this station that plays the new hits and whatnot. Now, Im a classic rock guy, so naturally I dont like it, but I wouldnt mind it so much if the station didnt play the same songs every day I have this class. Luckilly I only have this class every other day, but its still annoying. Why they can't play something different, I dont know. It seems they have the same 10 or so songs on a record and play them at this time of the day every single freakin day. I guess this only proves the new stuff that comes out isnt any good, so they gotta play the few songs that actually make it over and over again. I hate it.

Oh well, enough of my complaining and back to work for me.

Another unsatisified victim of Clear Channel Communications.

Most critics blame CCC for about 80% of the garbage being played on radio today.

i have a friend who works for clear channel...it takes all the power i have not to bite his neck off lol. I listen to the stations that mix in new alternative with classic rock, they keep things alive, either that or i resort to some net radio. BUt i know exactly what you mean, country music stations can do that too, where i work in the summer, you hear the same song at least 6 times in the 8 hour shifts.

My radio doesn't emit noxious odors, I must agree most of the new music I've heard is not to my liking.

There are many, many awful stations out there... but there are a couple I know of in the UK that are not so bad...

but even then, they have their 'favourites'

Slip a cd player in your pack, with an x-tra long headphone cord, and some low profile headphones.

Jam to some music you enjoy! It will probably improve your CAD preformance as well.

I travel 60% and pretty much have noticed that most things “Clear Channel” suck. In LA there is a great station KROQ that pretty much does what it wants. A few middle market towns have good stations but in general the big cities are all on Clear Channel, which means that no matter where you go (Dallas or Denver or wherever) there is no real difference. . I think Clear Channel cannot last forever. After time, people will get sick of corporate spoon fed music. Even now there are some artists that seem to be breaking away from the pack as far as originality. I am hoping that another Nirvana will come along and shatter the current paradigm. Until then, smooth Jazz seems to ease the pain.

The danger of Clear Channel is not just they own the plurality of the stations in the United States, but they are also the concert promoters.

It's going to have to be some internet indie startup that will havd to change music.

But as long as people think that paying $100 to be corraled in a stadium is how to listen to music, it's going to be like that.

I'm an OT. I thought a 10,000 seat theatre was too big for music!
