i missed my school bus again. i woke up an hour late, so i take my shower and call a few people, none of which were home and then i come up and sit at my computer. 10 minutes later all my friend are on. they turned all the buses around and canceled school.
cool creature. my old school was close enough to do that, but now thta im going to tech, its a 1.5 hour bike ride (illegally on the highway too :P ) or a long long long walk
i have it good though... some of our other buses have 2.5 hour rides.
I live in a country ish town, so the elementry school is 5 min walk. But the other 2 schools are smack dab in the middle of farm town (it is a funny site to see) and they are at least 30 min. walks.
'down here' we usually have a hurricane day off for the schools....
I like the idea about some peeps here walking or biking to school.
At our local HS here out of over 2500 students, my son is the only bike rider!!!! He loves the exercise and freedom it gives him, and I think it's great!! There are police at the 2 entrances who give him the right of way and the bike trial leads him fight to that intersection. I kinda laugh, because it cost like a few hundred thousand to connect the bike trail to the Jr and High school, and my little one is the ONLY bike rider using it.... LOL
