I got pulled over today for speeding, before i go into the story i'd first like to say that they obviously have made an arrangement with my wife as she speeds all the time and is never busted, if i go over the speed limit once in a year i get nailed, that aside... Today was "let's go find seashells day", so we took off for the beach. It's 63 miles to the jetties from the entrance, and it's vacant as can be after the first 15 except for the occasional fisherman. At the eight mile marker there's a big sign that says "warning, to not proceed without 4 wheel drive", but the good seashells are in the 4 wheel drive area, and i don't have 4 wheel drive. so i watch the tides and everyonce in awhile i can make it down and back. So today was one of those days, but we got a late start, so i was a little worried about the tide coming back too fast and us getting stuck, so once we were in the wide open i sped up. at the fifty mile marker a park ranger flipped on his lights and to a stop my truck came. He was descent about it but it was odd getting pulled over on a beach where there aren't any people. He asked if i knew how fast i was going and i said i did, he went back and ran my licence and came back and let me go, said he didn't have his radar gun on, goodnews for me

it was funny though cause when i stopped i got out of my truck and met him on his way to my vehicle, he didn't seem to like that too much, but sitting in my vehicle, out in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by ocean and sand, i just couldn't sit in my truck and wait as i would on a highway or road. So no ticket and lots of shells for the wife's flowerbed ... turned out to be an okay adventure

..... oh if there's any oceanographers on here i have a question for ya, why is it that when the tide washes up large deposits of shells they are always about the same size? sometimes they are broken chips worn smooth, sometimes all the size of a quesrter et cetera, has to be some logical explanation behind it...
