Reporting a movie pirate on eBay

There's a guy on ebay, a new seller, who's selling what have to be copied movies, some of which must be pirated from theaters because they haven't been released on DVD yet. (Gothika, Bad Santa, etc). I sent a complaint to ebay and got the standard automated response. I don't know if there's a way to follow up on it, since i'm new to ebay. Maybe if we all send in a complaint, he will get burned so hard that he can't grow back any hair. He's selling 84 movies, so i imagine they're all illegal. Seller is: monand200.

/me hands Mr. Goodbytes his "Good Citizenship" Merit Badge with a firm handshake and smile.

He'll get caught, don't bother. Visit KaZaA, Morpheus, or a Bittorrent client if you want a heart attack.

eBay customer support typically responds to most valid inquiries within 48 hours. The automated email you received was simply a courtesy message.

As he installs KaZaA, checks out the software, quickly realizes what is going on and immediately goes into violent convulsions.

Well actually my girlfriend uses my ebay account because hers became compromised and she doesn't want to get a new one. All she buys are movies and clothing and she wanted what this guy was selling. But she shortly noticed that something wasn't right, so she actually sent the message to ebay under my name.

I wouldn't worry about it. eBay is pretty proactive in taking care of those selling illegal items.

I wouldn't sell that stuff on eBay if I were located in the United States. It's now a FELONY!

go up to New York and they sell those right on the street. friend got a theater rip of Matrix 3 in a dvd case with a printed cover and everything. really sad if you ask me downloading a movie to watch at home is one thing, but to download then sell it that is what really annoys me (im not saying downloading a movie is the right thing, you just have to face the facts that since its so easy now to get them people are going to download them. i just dont want to turn this into a warez topic on who is right or wrong)

Ebay won't do anything. I bought a couple of cartoons (The Voltron movie, Transformers movie) and they were just copies with poorly printed covers. Emailed Ebay and they told me to contact the original companies myself. Uh, okay...the seller was still selling them for several months afterwards. I couldn't email the bidders to warn them either (bidder interference) and _I_ would get in trouble with Ebay!
