Anyone know of any good scholarship software?

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum area. I don't really have a problem with the software itself, and other areas of the forum seem to contain more "help desk" type questions.

Does anyone know where I can find software that allows me to search for college scholarships? I've heard millions of times that I should apply for as many scholarships as humanly possible, because that is the best way to find the cash I need. I've tried doing searches on Google, but I'm coming up with nothing. Has anyone found any of these programs for sale online (from respectable sellers of course) or had any interaction with this kind of software? Thanks for your time.

*edit* FYI, I am using a lot of the free services online like FastWeb. But I'm sure FastWeb can't list every scholarship available, so I'm just trying to broaden my search options.

There are numerous websites that specialize in helping you find scholarships. Start with your state education website and/or contact a local highschool for help.

Start the old-fashioned way: BOOK. Start with Amazon.com and follow the links. Go to the libaray. Ask you school counselor.

Go for all your options, including ROTC. If you ain't rich, you've got to do what you have to do!

If looking @ out of state schools, concentrate on private colleges. State institutions have to put the bulk of scholarships for residents, unless you have an extreme talent. Then they'll come looking for you!

there is a website that will (kinda) do scholarship searches for you. www.fastweb.com. they're all fairly obscure and it's not a conclusive list, but it's a start.

Also, it may depend upon your career. For certain careers, the governments have loans that may not have to be paid back!

My sister is an educator who went to school on a National Educational Defense loan! She went into teaching and the government cancelled the loan. The hard part was getting a tenured job. For a couple of years, she was teaching. But because she wasn't on the tenured track. it didn't count during those non tenured years.

Today, she's a successful school principal. She brought one of the worst underachieving schools up to snuff in one year!
