U.S. Airports to Track Foreign Visitors

"Starting this week foreigners entering U.S. airports and seaports from all but 28 nations will have their fingerprints scanned and their photographs taken as part of a new program to tighten border security."

This is one of the things we should have been doing all along.

Do you really think this will work? Terrorists from Europe would go unchecked for a month. Besides the fact that everything the government says will be "quick" always ends up taking forever.

No I dont, but its an improvement over what we have in place now.

I was trying to say that this should have been in place immediatly after 9/11 or sometime early last year.

They gone unchecked for years...a month isn't that big a deal.

It's a rediculous measure 'cause there's always going to be a loophole or backdoor. Just like when the Bin Laden family was able to fly out of the US after 9/11 when all other US air traffic was grounded. It's just eye-candy in an attempt to show the gullible that the Office of Homeland Security is actually doing something and earning it's keep.

Just like the fact there have been no more attacks in the U.S. since 9/11?

You would not have allowed Bin Laden Family (western style business men) to leave the country?

Who would you have considered more important to be flying in the days following 9/11.

Personally the threat to the Bin laden family (most of whom have denounced their brother/cousin/son osamma) from revenge seekers would seem to make them about the most important people to be shuttled out of the US.
