Yes, it was horrible, at least what I could watch.
The choice of hosts was horrid? Puff Daddy? About as much brains and charisma as a houseplant. Sure, he can produce and sing, but please DON'T make him host again. Jenny McCarthy? Not much better, but at least she reads her lines right, and seems to have some genuine excitement, and isn't biased in her opinions and leveling of praise. The whole show was a bomb, though, aside from some nice moments.
Did I mention PD was annoying as hell? You know, Mr. Combs, there are other popular musical styles beside R&B and rap, no particular one should receive special recognition, unlike your actions. Also, when a duet is performed with two talented artists (one vocal, one guitar), you don't go and say "How about the great job by so-and-so? Give it up for him!", and totally ignore the musician!! That was ignorant! If I was Sambora, I'd bust my guitar over his ignorant head. Can you tell he grates on my nerves? hahahaha

He'll always be a bad-boy wannabe in my mind. (note for the people rushing to his defense: I have quite an array of music I listen to, and a bizarre cd collection, so don't think I'm singling him out for his particular musical category...)
It is fun watching all the different stars come up, and the introductions can be funny at times (if forced.. jeez, people, read it over once or twice before you get to the teleprompter!).
What is up with the absolutely shameless promotion by these people introducing and accepting awards now? "And the winner is.. oh yeah, my new album, "Ignorance for the Masses, Benjamins' for tha RIAA", is now in stores.. check it out! Yeah!... the winner is.. "
So sad.. I used to enjoy the show, but it has taken several steps down. I don't think I'll even bother channel surfing by it next year, I was THAT disappointed!
I loved Garth's comment to the music industry giants though, something to the effect that they are nothing without the artists, so back off!
