Systems Help with getting my TV repaired or replaced

Dec. 4th I had a repairman come out to adjust the convergence on my Philips 55" HDTV. 2 days later it developed 2 long green lines in the middle of the screen. He came out again and told me it was the Red picture tube and he would have to order it. He came out about a week later with the new bulb and installed it and (supposedly) adjusted the convergence for the set. Well that night when I got home the tv was no better than it was (except the green lines were gone) before he fixed it. Actually it was worse when I was in HD. So I called them and he came out again with a special tool to adjust the HD convergence. Well he leaves and I come home from work and it was no better AGAIN!!! So I called them back (oh BTW this is a Factory Philips Serviceman) and he told me that he was going to order a convergence board and it would be another week or so. So today I turn the TV on and within about 3 hours I now have what looks like a DRIPPING RED BLOOD MARK in the middle of the TV. I called Philips Consumer Relations and they told me I have to have 3 seperate service calls to have the set replaced (I am currently on 1 still) and or the serviceman has to deem the set un-repairable. So now what. This thing was purchased Jan. 26th 2002 and the warranty is good till Jan. 27th, 2005. So far nothing he has done has corrected this issue and I have no idea where to go from here. Circuit City (where I purchased it) just tells me to call Consumer Relations who tells me the above statement. What am I to do now? This is absolutly crazy. It's been a month and my TV is still messed up and things keep going crazy with it. HELP!!!!!

Who's your warranty with? Phillips or Curcuit City? Seems it's Phillips since you got a Phillips man. Sounds pretty much the same thing my friends are going through with Gateway and Dell. Send a repairman and fix this. Send a repairman and fix that. Send a repairman and take it back. Send a...

Philips under the first year and Circuit City till 2005. Just spoke with the store manager where I purchased it and he just gave me the same run around saying he was going to call around and see what he could do. He has to have there side of the story before authorizing a replacement. I'm sick of this. Playoff's are on and here I am with a messed up tv and a repairman who is just throwing parts on the tv in hopes it fixes it. Crazy! Not very happy with this "EXTENDED" warranty stuff. I would have rather paid to have the set fixed one time than go through this warranty crap.

lol, so did I...

Explain your situation to the reps on the phone, ask to talk to their supervisor.

my other thread died..... so I was so po'd when this new problem came to be so I just started typing a new thread. Sorry but I have talked to anyone and everyone. Talked to the Manager of Circuit City and so far he is going to "LOOK" into the situation and see what he can do to replace it because he feels replacing it would only be the logical thing to do because of:

Convergence = 1 service call
Red Bulb = 2 service call
Convergence = continue service call 1
Order new Convergence board = 3 service call
Red Bleed in middle of screen = 4 service calls
Plus the numerous times he has been out to try and fix it.

I, too, was relieved to see the explanation as I scrolled down. I feared it was a "senior moment" or, worse, a rip in the very fabric of space-time! (and we can't have that, can we?)
