Kids Mouses or Mice?

OK, sorry to start this lame thread, but I have had this argument on several occasions, and it is now time to put it to rest.

A computer mouse is not an animal, but is named after one.

With that in mind, if one has a box of them, do have:

1. A box of computer mouses?

or

2. A box of computer mice?

I say the plual of a computer mouse is: "computer mouses",

With that in mind #1 is correct.

Souse - souses, house - houses, grouse - grouses, rouse - rouses - rice?

Spouse - spouses - spice, douse - douses - dice?

Louse - lice, mouse - mice.

I'm with you Prison Kids. I like to use mouses. And this is not a lame thread, this is a very hot debate. Last time I brought this up and spent some time researching it I discovered that the official and correct answer is...there isn't one. This is still being hashed out in literary circles everywhere. Unfortunately mice seems to be winning but it's not over yet and there's still a lot of support for using mouses.

Number one sounds better since it's a name of an object. House is an object but more than one house is houses not hice.

I think we should have a pole on this and create a techimo literary point for the correct term for multiple mice/mouses.

This will definatively be the answer after 1 week of poling. It won't matter what the rest of the world thinks then.

What do you think?

Cheers!

I prefer to say "box of clickety bangaroos", but I'm not known for my "normalness".
