Guitar ID Help Please

I just picked up this old guitar. It seems to be of decent quality, and is fairly old.
I cleaned it and strung it and it plays ok,I'm putting it in the shop tomorrow for some bridge work.
Anyway,Here are some pics, can anyone tell me the maker of this thing from the insignia on the headstock? It used to have the sticker on the inside, which is long since gone.
Thanx in advance
BC

No idea BC. But since you brought the subject up maybe someone can help me with the same problem. I've had this guitar for 15 years. Other than being an Ibanez I know nothing about it. No one I've ever come across has known anything about it either.

It's a solid, neck thru the body design. It's heavy as hell. Great tone. Sustain up the ying-yang. It's sorta like a Les Paul but obviously it has two cutaways and it's bottom is fatter than a Paul.

Once someone told me it was the first guitar design that Ibanez ever produced and it was a copy of some type of Gibson. I don't know if that's true or not though.

(Whir, say "it looks like an Ibanez to me" at your own risk. )

btw, original pickups were white double humbuckers.

Definitely very similar. But it doesn't have the rounded edges like the GAX70. It's got sharp edges like a Les Paul.

How about 2671 Artist still not THE ONE

Or is THIS GIO THE WINNER?

Well so far that 2671 Artist looks to be the EXACT body style. See how the body bulges out towards the center of the guitar. It's most noticable on the 12-string because it's shiny. That's exactly like mine. You can't really tell in my photo because it's not really a photo, it's a bunch of scanner images stiched together.

That GIO is too flat, that's not it. So now I know it's the same style as the 2671 Artist. What does that mean? Does that mean it IS a 2671 Artist? Obviously mine has slightly different hardware but all the knobs and switches are in the right place. Is that even an Ibanez model? It looks like it but I can't read the headstock in that photo.
