What peeves me is that it seems like you can't just upgrade your email service... You have to subscribe to the "MSN 8" trickster shenanigans they have going on. Which I wholly refuse to do.

Nope, not me, I resist the change! When I signed up for hotmail it was free, so there's no way I'll ever pay for it.

afaik, it lets you block more senders, add more strings to your filters, and give you wuite a bit more space for you email.

Sorry bovon I dont know of anyone here paying for Hotmail. Its usefull enough as it is for free. I keep the free account so I can have a spare spam account.

You can get extra storage without signing up for MSN 8. If you get MSN internet service, the extra storage comes with the plan.

At this time, I don't have any need to pay $19.95. I won't say that I would never pay for the service. I just don't need to at this time.

I've been hopping around ISPs for years. Since ISPs don't provide any forwarding service, I've used Hotmail. I don't get political about Microsoft, etc.

The service works just fine for what I do. All my spam gets sorted. It works most of the time.

I understand the thoughts guys.. My query has to do with my perceived concept that the free email service has been deliberately broken to hopefully force Hotmail users to upgrade to the paid service. The only way to discover that would be (1) upgrade myself or (2) chat with someone who already has the paid service.

Thanks for the input..
