Misc A solution how to get floss stuck from between teeth!

Just spent quite some time trying to get a piece of floss from out between two teeth.

I was doing my usual flossing routine earlier this evening when a piece got jammed - nothing I could do would unjam it. I didn't want to use great force as both teeth concerned are filled. I tried the cold water trick - swilling cold water onto the teeth in the hope they will contract, well that didn't work. Tried a fatter piece of dental tape but no joy, indeed I tried numerous thicknesses of tape and floss all no good. In the end I snipped both ends of the stuck floss off, leaving about three quarters of an inch each side, and just hoped that it would come out naturally.

Anyway, I've just had another go and this is what worked: I got a pair of tweezers and fairly gently pulled on one end and a very small piece of floss shredded away from the main piece. I repeated doing this both ends and after only a short while it was out - relief!

I thought I'd post this as it may be of help to someone in the same situation.

You know what? I've been posting on different forums for years now and this is by far the strangest thread I've ever seen.

It's good to know that someone with a name like kingofpain has access to dental tools. I'll sleep better now

the last dentist I went to for a Root canal was Dr. Hurt . (excellent work and no pain by the way.)

Strangely enough some years ago one of the vets we used to go to was a Dr. Butcher too.

thekingofpain - I've got some of those, they are called Interdens over here. I didn't actually use one as I didn't think they would be of any use! Perhaps I will next time.

f1oored - Strange thread? Nice pun lol!!

surreal - what is a taffy?? A taffy over here is a Welshman and I wouldn't want to attempt to eat one lol.

It's a really sticky candy. When you chew it, it gets soft as it dissolves (like gum) but it's soooo sticky it could rip out denture work until it's softened.

Here is a link I found on Google.
It was just above Taffy was a Welshman.

Hey! That rhyme about Taffy is one my mom told me
