Giants Head Coach Sacked

With two games remaining in the season, NY Giants head coach Jim Fassel has been fired, but has apparently also agreed to serve out the remainder of his sentence as head coach.

The problem I have with this is that his team had a lot of injuries this year. It's hard to coach a team full of backups into the playoffs. Only a few guys, like Bill Parcells , can do that. Fassell is still a great coach in my mind. Also part of the blame goes into the drafting, which hasn't been all that good. I don't think Fassell is in control of the personnel decisions, is he?

Shudda done like Dan Reeves...exit now! Being unemployed, they can be first on the list for the next team. Otherwise, they have to wait for the season to be over before being contacted by new teams!

Plenty of places for a good coach to go!

I hope the Niners do the same with Dennis Erickson. He has never had a winning season as an NFL coach. As a college coach he has fared rather well.

I really believe Herm Edwards will survive. The Jets have less of the win or die mentality.
