Should NFL Players be Fined For....
Endzone celebration?
Personally, I think that they should just ban it, like in the NCAA. It's okay to a point, but what most players do is ridiculous. They can take a knee and point to the sky, but spiking the ball, etc. just seems stupid.
What I really hate is when the ref is standing next to them, and they have to throw it ten yards away from the ref. CNN SI Linkage
I don't know though, the stunt like what T.O. did; pulling a marker out of his sock and signing a ball was good. I didn't mind the sign saying, "NFL, please don't fine me."

Actually, NFL rules prohibit demonstrations after touchdowns. Most of the modern day demonstrations started in 1988 with Ickey Woods, an RB with the Cincinati Bengals who had his career cut short because of injuries. Everytime he made a touchdown he would do the "Ickey Shuffle!"
I like Barry Sanders, "You're supposed to look like you've been there (in the end zone) before and are going to be there again!"
But it seems that a significant amount of players spend more time practicing a celebration dance for when they get in the end zone than practice how to get into the end zone!
Actually, the only celebration I really like is the Lambeau Leap, when the player jumps into the end zone seats. That more celebrates the fans!

the dances in the endzone are unsportsman like.
it is gloating. That should be done in private. It portrays bad sportsmanlike behavior.

You can't just fine players for stupidity. They would end up fining every player in the league and no one but the NFL head office would make any money.

This is ridiculous !!!! Imagine , after scoring a goal , ther hockey team, quietly skated to the bench,or after a home run in the bottom of the ninth during a pennant playoff, the baseball team just turned and went into the locker room. What's wrong with celebrating a touchdown ????? When something dramatic happens in your own life, do you not take time to excliam some sort of expression. Let these guys have their emotiopnal moment and just go grab another beer or go take a leak if you don't want to watch. You even change the channel or take a cold shower if it upsets you that much. Give me a break....

These guys are supposed to be PROFESSIONALS. They are paid big money to make touchdowns.
It's obvious if the League doesn't step in, there will be no limit to the touch down celebrations.
But as I said, these professionals ought to practice making touchdowns than practicing touchdown dances!
