Was Saddam hiding or a prisoner?

This link http://www.debka.com/article.php?aid=743 suggests that Saddam wasn't hiding but was being held captive in order for his captors to get the $25 Million reward. Sounds interesting.

1. The length and state of his hair indicated he had not seen a barber or even had a shampoo for several weeks.

Actually, that was his idea..so he could drive the taxi around town incognito

2. The wild state of his beard indicated he had not shaved for the same period

Same as #1, this was his method of going unnoticed here and there...worked good too!

3. The hole dug in the floor of a cellar in a farm compound near Tikrit was primitive indeed – 6ft across and 8ft across with minimal sanitary arrangements - a far cry from his opulent palaces.

What would you expect from a "poor" old man who doesn't quite have his act together?.

4. Saddam looked beaten and hungry.

Of course he did..all part of the overall plan.

5. Detained trying to escape were two unidentified men. Left with him were two AK-47 assault guns and a pistol, none of which were used.

Yeah...dangit..two of my best infiltraters by golly! The AK's were left behind by mistake.

6. The hole had only one opening. It was not only camouflaged with mud and bricks – it was blocked. He could not have climbed out without someone on the outside removing the covering.

Aww come on now...there was only a cloth and the door which we painted a sand color (which didn't work). The crap you read in some of these news articals are fabricated to sell...thats all.

7. And most important, $750,000 in 100-dollar notes were found with him (a pittance for his captors who expected a $25m reward)– but no communications equipment of any kind, whether cell phone or even a carrier pigeon for contacting the outside world.

Well, for one thing..we knew the CIA was monitoring all communications from the entire region, and he decided himself to communicate thru runners. If we could have kept him in hiding 1 more week, we would have had the 25 mil...and been on our way to America. Saddam said he wanted to drive a cab in Harlem.

Held in captivity since November 16th?..look at his skin color. 30 days in the hole, and the skin will be almost white.

Better call Fox Mulder in on this, sounds like an X-File to me.

Ques. Is this paper you got the article from found on supermarket shelves near the checkout?

Unreasonable.

the 25 million was up for grabbs. They could have gotten it by simply turning him in.

You would not need to hold him hostage.

Walk walk walk "hello mr american soldier, I know where saddam is"

Poof 25 million and a free pass to the USA.

oh yea.

It is sooooo likely that his captives would have allowed him to keep a gun.

Brilliant deductions on the authors part and anyone who believes this tripe.

Absolutely! The last time I hid a captive worth $25 million for six months in a hole, I let him have three guns! No one suspected a thing.

as for this little gem if you want to successfully hide someone an easy enterance is not always the best.

Covering it with bricks from the outside just says that he had help on the outside.

Gawd what a moron the author is.
