Here I go again
I have lost over 80 lbs during the past year and have been very diligent about eating right and counting every calorie. Now in the past month I have decided to quit the counting and have begun to try and eat some good tasting food again and wham I;ve gained back 10 lbs. This really sucks.I don;t want to have to count every freaking calorie for the rest of my life.I'm not pigging out on anything .I exercise and my job is strenuous enough.I climb in and out of a truck every day.I refuse to be fat again.I have all new cloths and don't want to go up a size again. This is very frustrating.I had great will power and was able to my hunger under control. Now,I'm hungry all the time and have to really fight the urge to eat.You know what kills me.100 years ago you didn't have to worry about this sort of thing. Most life styles kept you in shape. You either work and lived on a farm or you had some other strenuous job. Now,you have to run 25 miles a day to keep the weight off.

I personally don't believe in eating jack all for sometime and sporting a lot, instead just watch your food and work out a bit, not that i do either though...
But just loosing weight doesn't work, everyone likes snacks in a while, and if you forbid yourself it for a long time, then 1 day you will start eating them again, and make it much worse.

You're welcome...it definitely works if you stick to it! Worst part for me is not eating much at night...I break that rule all the time. When I wake up at midnight/1am hungry, I lose common sense and head straight for the junk food!

Yes.. that link Martoch gave you is what I do. As long as I do what's on the list, I'm OK.
Diets don't work. Lifestyle changes do.
btw, congrats on the significant weight loss, Terminal! That's *really* great!
My tip: Cut up alot of celery and carrot sticks, cover in water and put in your frig. When those munchies come on - and I get them at night which is horrible - just break them out and you can eat virtually your fill and be OK!
don't stop the weight training and keep up the cardio a few times a week! | |

You're so right about the diets not working...I have buddies at work that go on these crazy diets for a few weeks to lose some "fast pounds"...never lasts. I warn them against such diets, but they don't listen to me, even when they see me with my shirt off. |

That happened to me last holiday season, and I'm still trying to get back down. (OK, so I'm actually trying not to go up any more )
Don't get too down on yourself, once in a while you've got to treat yourself to the things you enjoy. Life is just too short. |
