Is phony anti-Dean email a Bush Dirty Trick?

When I read this, http://www.thejewishweek.com/news/ne...hp3?artid=8835 it reminded me of the Nixon dirty trick against Edmund Muskie in 1972.

"Law enforcement sources said that probably the best example of the sabotage was the fabrication by a White House aide -- of a celebrated letter to the editor alleging that Sen. Edmund S. Muskie (D-Maine) condoned a racial slur on Americans of French-Canadian descent as "Canucks."

It's probably from the Clintons...

Hillary can't afford to have Dean look good for the following reasons:

Should lightening strike and Dean wins the presidency, she is out and he becomes the new Democratic party leader. Mc Auliffe is gone. Thus, the party apparatus will be unraveled from the Clinton/Mc Auliffe tentacles, severly reducing her power.

In 2008, both Gore and Dean may want to run again so she has more competition.

Dean running is the best thing that could happen to the Republicans due to the de-Clintonizing of the party rendering Hillary and Bill impotent. Without Mc Auliffe and Clinton, she will need to compete with Gore and Dean for face time for 2008, so she won't get much because neither are friends of the Clintons.
