This happens to me every winter!

The skin on my hands turns red (colour won't go away), the skin starts to peel very lightly, and the red areas feel hot (also to touch).

I try to put moisture cream on them the whole time, it helps somewhat.

Once winter is over and the temperature rises everything is back to normal.

Anyone else experience this or do I have some freal allergy to cold?.

What can I do to prevent this and make it go away?.

Thanks

AS funny as it sounds - grab the sweethearts hand cream , no tthe cheap stuff -
I got the same thing - I heal up after a day or two of this and I'm fine for a while - the skin just dries out - nothing serious - but mine is painful sometimes -

regards - wiz

I have the same problem in the winter. The air blasting out of the laser at work just makes it worse. Handcream helps but the only real cure is spring.

Udder Cream has been recommended to me over and over again. I have recently seen it for purchase in a Wal-mart. It is supposed to be the only way to go but I have not had the guts to try something designed for use on a cow.

Use Bag Balm.

www.bagbalm.com

They use it on cow udders to stop rashes, and prevent chaffing. It works wonders.

Make sure you dry your hands thoroughly too.

Use a cream called Eucerine (I'm not sure if I spelled it correctly but it's close), there are many generics of this cream, I use a generic from the drug store chain Rite Aid, They just call it Therapeutic Moisturizing Cream - for dry skin. I get a similar rash on my face, as long as I use this cream just about every day, I have no problem.
