Clark interview was painful

hardball

Quote:
MATTHEWS: Why did he relieve you?
CLARK: First of all, I wasn’t relieved.
MATTHEWS: You weren’t?
CLARK: No. Uh-uh.
MATTHEWS: You weren’t relieved as supreme commander as NATO.
CLARK: No, I wasn’t. No. I was asked to retire three months early.
MATTHEWS: How is that different?
CLARK: Because, the way it works...
MATTHEWS: Weren’t you hurt by that?
Weren’t you hurt by the president whose policies you supported against the opinions of other high-ranking military people that he would undercut you after you supported him against these other fellows?
CLARK: But you have to let me answer the first question you asked.
MATTHEWS: Go for it.

"I wasn't fired I was just, let go 3 months early, prior to the completion of my assigned time and before I had finished."

Quote:
GEN. NORMAN SCHWARZKOPF, U.S. ARMY (RET.): He was fired because of matters of character and integrity. That is a very, very damning statement which says if that’s the case he’s not the right man for president as far as I’m concerned.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
MATTHEWS: Well, response?
CLARK: Well, I think you cut off the first part of it, which is, first of all from him, it’s hearsay. He’s quoting another officer who says that that’s why I was fired. And he said if that’s the case. Well, it’s not the case. I wasn’t fired for reasons of character and integrity. In fact, according to the statements of Secretary Cohen, Hugh Shelton and everybody else, I wasn’t fired at all. What we actually had...
MATTHEWS: Why did Schwarzkopf say that?
CLARK: I have no idea.

That is pretty much all I saw it was funny.

I thought clark was gonna get up and try to send mathews to a courts martial when he realized he was just a civillian again.

I guess he needs to have another chat with Hugh Shelton about why he was asked to leave.

I kinda liked clark during his first few interviews.

But After that it has been all down hill. He appears to me to be a liar and is without convictions.

But of all the Democratic candidates that pander to the leftist agenda, he's my favorite.

But he's not even a serious candidate!!! He was dropped in by the Clintons in an attempt to derail Dean and keep him from getting the nomination. Two things: First, the Clintons would rather see a republican win this election, so Hillary can run in 2008. She can't run in 2004; she has no experience, and senators have only made the jump to the Presidency twice in history, I believe. If a democrat wins this election, Hillary won't be able to run in 2008 because the President gets the bid for the next election. In 2012, odds are the VP gets the bid, but there's still a chance. But at that point, she's getting pretty old. So 2008 is the magic number for Hillary.

The reason to derail Dean is simple. The democratic presidential nominee is supposed to gain control of the DNC by way of appointing a chairman. Gore should've been able to do that, but the Clintons got him to walk away without much of a fight. Dean is making it clear that there would definitely be a fight for control, and knowing the Clintons and observing how nutty Dean can be, it would probably get pretty nasty. The Clintons do not want to let go of the reigns of the Democratic party. Just watch, whoever gets the nomination, they will stab him in the back.
