White House Criticizes Kerry's Use of the F-Word
Get real. Quote:
When asked in the interview about the success of rival candidate Howard Dean, whose anti-war message has resounded with supporters, Kerry responded: "When I voted for the war, I voted for what I thought was best for the country. Did I expect Howard Dean to go off to the left and say, 'I'm against everything?' Sure. Did I expect George Bush to f--- it up as badly as he did? I don't think anybody did."
The expletive drew a rebuke from White House, which suggested an apology might be in order.
"That's beneath John Kerry," the president's chief of staff, Andrew Card, said on CNN's "Late Edition."
"I'm very disappointed that he would use that kind of language," Card said. "I'm hoping that he's apologizing at least to himself, because that's not the John Kerry that I know."
The Kerry campaign said the Massachusetts senator had no regrets.
"John Kerry saw combat up close, and he doesn't mince words when it comes to politicians who put ideological recklessness ahead of American troops," said spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter. "I think the American people would rather Card and the rest of the White House staff spend more time on fixing Bush's flawed policy in Iraq than on Sen. Kerry's language."

Hmmm. What would the left say if George W. spouted out the words "f---ing terrorists"? I'm sure that would've sparked a Theo post.

| Yeah, that George Bush is one classy guy.... Maybe Kerry should follow his lead.. Who cares? It may have not been the most "appropriate" thing to do, but in my opinion - it isn't something that speaks negatively toward his character.

Kerry knows he has no chance in winning the nomination so he figures what the hell.
It was ment to be a joke which is ironic since Kerry is a big joke too.

Oh, it definitely speaks negatively about his character. He's theoretically a professional politician who's gotten more and more shrill with his frustration at not connecting with the public. He can't understand it at all, IMO, and that frustrates the hell out of him. For a politician to drop the F-bomb about the commander-in-chief and his policies in an interview - shows his entire lack of responsibility - especially when the content is totally debateable. I'd love to see him try to pull that sh__ on the O'Reilly Factor! But he's too much of a coward to actually debate his position, just like Dean and his totally irresponsible repetition of the "theory that President Bush supressed information about 9-11" It's drive-by politics at it's worst, and that's what's funny! They're so far removed from reality that i think they start to buy some of the crap they're shoveling! |

I thought it was pretty funny, but I think it's a lame attempt in trying to save his dying campaign, kinda like the motorcycle/Leno escapade. The guy is trying out for the highest position in America, perhaps the most powerful position in the world. He's got to show a bit of class.
